Our good friend, Mark Cole has

worked hard all of his life.

HarmoniCole has worked hard and played hard. Mark is a top notch, card carrying union carpenter during the day. However at night, he is one of the best blues harp players ever to grace us. A life-long career at playing harmonica, guitar and vocals…Mark stood his ground on stage and proved himself thousands of times to the delight of everyone within range! Those of us that have shared the stage with HarmoniCole revel in each opportunity to perform as he takes the lion’s share of the musical effort so we don’t have to work nearly as hard.

For the past eight years, Mark has worked harder than any of you could imagine with his personal battles with Cancer. If you didn’t know that Mark had been stricken with renal cancer years ago that moved into his gastro-intestinal system and into a lung….each one having to be removed by surgery…it’s because Mark has never chosen to complain. Never asked for our sympathy or support…he’s endured, prevailed and moved on.

Recently, HarmoniCole has had this battle turn once again against him. After surgeries, chemo-therapy and experimental drugs…Mark has made the decision to stop the continual battles that were whittling away at his body and soul. Mark has earned the right to “rest up” after his many years of fighting the odds.

Presently and as always, Mark’s concerns are not about Mark. Mark is concerned for his children, Sean and Jesse having to deal with the eventual final expenses that no one ever plans for. Again, this is our pal that has decided never to be the burden to his friends or family again and hoping that his children will not have to endure this sad last detail alone and without funds. I’ve seen Mark dig in for the last couple of bucks out of his own his pocket to give to someone else that he felt needed the money…time and again. Suffice to say, if he had held on to the money that he’s given away, he’d be a millionaire today, but then again…that wouldn’t be the HarmoniCole that we all know, love and admire.

This is where we have chosen to step in to assist Sean & Jesse to help eliminate this concern for their father and our good friend, Mark Cole.
