The Sentimental Journey Orchestra is the premier Big Band of the Southeast with a 34 year history. Playing with these guys is a weekly rehearsal and a very, very regular gig list that began as a sub for their charter pianist that passed away suddenly in December 2004. Nothing like a five hour sight reading in front of some 40,000 people!! Worse yet, was playing a brand new Boston grand piano with a brand new action. The piano won that contest.
